Supporting your end-of-life journey.

Welcome to Shangri-La Transitions
End-of-Life Doula
We are an educational non-profit that supports community members facing their own or a loved one’s inevitable transition from the physical world.
Many have said that “Knowledge is Strength” and although the natural dying process is well-understood, this knowledge is not readily understood or shared.
As an End-of-Life Guide, our work can involve providing information and support, or it can also extend to actively participating in the planning of a death, along with the associated activities and practices.
“Death is simply a shedding of the physical body like the butterfly shedding its cocoon . . . ” Elisabeth Kubler-Ross

When should I consider engaging with a Doula?
You can consider engaging with an End-of-Life Doula at any stage of a life-limiting illness, helping ensure a more comfortable and supported experience.
What training and qualifications do Doulas have?
End-of-Life Doulas typically undergo specific training programs that cover various aspects of end-of-life care, communication, and grief support.
Is Doula support only for those with terminal illnesses?
No, while often associated with terminal illnesses, End-of-Life Doulas can provide support to individuals facing any life-limiting condition or those seeking a more intentional end-of-life experience.
Which services do an End-of-Life Doula NOT provide?
- Medical care or advice (including mental health counseling, medication administering, or wound care)
- Legal counsel (including will or estate planning)

Following our consultation, I will provide you with a personalized plan. Pricing is based on the Green Bottle Model, a sliding scale option, from Worts + Cunning.
However, as a nonprofit, I do not take funds for myself, but the funds are used to support the business costs of the organization.
